SQL – Full-Text Search – Danish – Service Manager 2012 sp1

I am from Denmark and therefor I like to try out Service Manager 2012 sp1 in Danish.

My Setup info
Windows Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2008 R2
Sharepoint Foundation 2010 SP2 with Danish langauge pack

So I installed it and got Service Manager to talk danish :-). Then I got to the Self Service Portal. I installed the language pack and got the setup right. So now the service portal also speak danish. So fare all fine.

Now I like to search for knowledge article. I cannot find any when I have set my setting in sharepoint to danish language. But as soon I change it to english it work fine. I have create the KA with danish langauge settings. Hmm strange from my view.

I searched the insternet and found ‘Enable Full Text Search For Non-English Knowledge Article’ and the MS way. I tried but it did not solve my issue.

Then I found ‘Language Support for System Center 2012 – Service Manager’. I saw to my suprise. Danish is not support. What…….Full-text search does not function in SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2. So it is related to SQL. But as fare I can read, there is still a chance.

So back to google, sorry, Bing. And I found ‘Enabling Danish for SQL Server FullText’ and ‘Danish Language Installation for Full Text Search Index’ . But I still have the issue.

So now I am back in lab. With a new setup.
Windows Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2012
Sharepoint Foundation 2010 SP2 with Danish langauge pack

And now I got it to work. I dont have run any extra reg-key our sql queries, it just worked.
